TB-500

TB-500 is a synthetic analogue of the conserved region of thymosin beta-4 — an endogenous actin-sequestering protein present in virtually all nucleated mammalian cells. The Ac-SDKP tetrapeptide within TB-500 is hypothesized to upregulate actin polymerization to promote cell migration, stimulate angiogenesis via VEGF pathway modulation, reduce local inflammation through NF-κB pathway downregulation, and activate stem cell differentiation in damaged tissue sites.

Wound healing: Multiple animal studies demonstrate accelerated dermal wound closure and reduced scar tissue formation.

Cardiac: Murine MI models showed cardiomyocyte regeneration and measurable improvement in ventricular function.

Tendon/ligament: In vitro studies show enhanced tenocyte migration and proliferation in response to TB-500.

Hair follicle: Thymosin beta-4 shown to activate hair follicle stem cells and extend the anagen growth phase.

Neuroprotection: CNS injury models suggest reduced neuroinflammation and partial functional recovery.
